The custom guitar pick was meticulously handcrafted with the aforementioned hardwoods, it features diagonally laminated strips of Arizona ironwood, & curly maple in between two pieces of Gabon ebony on the outside edges for a simple yet sleek & custom look. Concave rough sanded thumb grooves on each side provide a superior grip that enables the guitarist to really explore new highs in guitar playing. The guitar pick hangs from a big lobster clasp that make this pick very access-able for jamming, it measures approx. 1-1/4" or 32 mm long X 1-1/16" or 27 mm wide, it is about 2.5 mm thick at the thickest part of the pick, with a tip that tapers down to about 1mm. Treated with a special oil blend & hand rubbed with a natural bees wax paste, this really brings out the natural color & beauty of the wood, plus it also protects it from the elements as well.
The leather necklace is about 21" long & is 3 mm thick, added are some nice pandora style beads of wood & howlite turquoise that are separated with tibetan silver spacer beads. Would make an excellent gift! Thanks for looking.
ARIZONA DESERT IRONWOOD - Olneya Tesota
The desert ironwood only grows in the washes and valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. The Sonoran Desert is located in southwestern Arizona, southern California, and the northwestern part of Mexico.
The wood of the desert ironwood is very hard and dense, it actually sinks in water. The color may be a variation of light to very dark chocolate to purplish browns, with light cream colored sapwood. Old growth fiber and density is apparent in its tight grain pattern, as such it makes for an ideal tone wood, for a crisp beautiful sound. Burls have high figure & are simply stunning. A truly rare wood from the Sonoran Desert.

CURLY MAPLE - Acer Saccharum
The tree is Native to North America – All along the Northern United States and throughout Canada. Curly maple is really not a species, but actually a description of a figure in the grain. Curly maple occurs most often in soft maples, but is also seen in hard maples. The heartwood is typically a light tan to reddish brown color and, of course, features a pronounced grain pattern. The sapwood is usually light cream colored with a reddish tint. Curly maple is a durable, hard, and dense wood, which carves and turns exceptionally well, and finishes very nicely. Curly maple is also referred to as tiger maple, flame or fiddleback maple.
GABON EBONY - Diospyros Crassiflora
The tree is native to Gabon and grows throughout Southern Nigeria, Cameroon, and Zaire .
Gabon Ebony is said to be "the blackest wood in the world," although it does sometimes contain brown highlights. The wood is quite hard, heavy, and dense, the combination of jet-black appearance and hardness makes it a particular favorite among musical instrument makers , the wood is widely used to make keys for pianos and harpsichords, as well as fingerboards for guitars, violins, cellos, and oboes. Ebony wood has been coveted by wood artisans for literally thousands of years; in fact, some carved pieces have been discovered in Ancient Egyptian tombs. The wood's distinct coloring and ability to polish beautifully have kept it highly sought after through the ages.
